Manchester Foundation for Education : Raising Money for City schools

As the City mulls over the idea of including information in tax bills about donating to schools, residents should know that there is already a local education foundation working to bring business and community leaders, parents and school officials together for the betterment of public school students. Manchester Foundation for Education is an independent 501(c)(3) non- profit organization founded to  strengthen public education in Manchester by engaging community members as partners in the pursuit of educational excellence. MFE recently donated over 200 alarm clocks to the School District in an effort to curb chronic truancy.  MFE is also collaborating with local high tech business leaders and the district IT director to establish Community Technology Champions in an effort to address technology areas of opportunity throughout the Manchester School District. Another project MFE is working on is a professional development opportunity for all district teachers. These are ongoing projects that will enhance our children’s education and positively impact student achievement.
